COMPEL Network Control puts every receiver and uplink in your network under your control. Receivers are controlled as individual sites and as groups. COMPEL provides more than just permissioning a receiver. COMPEL issues commands that are synchronized with video and audio programming. Scheduling commands allows you to regionalize programming and commercials to increase revenues.
WEGENER has provided patented network control systems for over a decade. Our network control systems direct over 150 networks worldwide. Running on the powerful UNIX operating system, COMPEL is a proven product that controls millions of dollars in revenues for major broadcasters and cable programmers every day.
Group functions give your network unparalleled flexibility. You can regionalize programming, commercials and file transfers. COMPEL lets you create up to 6,400 separate groups. Each group is a portion of your network that you command to perform specific functions simultaneously. Receivers may belong to multiple groups. These groups can be commanded using Boolean logic. For example, you can send commands to all west coast receivers or all west coast receivers excluding San Francisco. This flexible group function allows the user combinations of groups, intersections and exclusions. Almost any conceivable delineation of your network is possible with COMPEL.
COMPEL Web Access is an optional software module for WEGENER's COMPEL Network Control System that allows users to access their COMPEL system from the Internet using a browser.
The Web Interface uses the COMPEL Virtual Networks program to define the specific resources a user can access. The user logon will determine the receivers, channels and groups that will be visible for a particular user.
Web Access is provided through two distinct interfaces: Standard Web Access provides all of the normal COMPEL screens and capabilities while Customer Web Access provides a focused subset of COMPEL capabilities.
Customer Web Access is a user-friendly interface that allows non-technical operators the ability to add sites, authorize users and set basic parameters from any Internet connected web browser. Additional customization packages which include your company's graphics and/or unique marketing appearance are available.
COMPEL MediaPlan is an optional software module for the COMPEL Network Control System. It combines the internal functionality of COMPEL scheduling and IRD management with the scheduling and delivery of multimedia content to networks using the iPump Media Server.
COMPEL MediaPlan transmits multimedia content using DVB's IP data multi-encapsulated protocol (MPE).
Customers can manage schedules and playback at the control site or download a playback schedule to the iPump media server.
COMPEL conditional access (CA) is an optional software module for WEGENER's COMPEL Network Control System. COMPEL CA delivers secure conditional access to your network without the high cost and hassle of consumer smartcard systems.
RSA Data Security has audited COMPEL CA. RSA is an independent lab with a 15-year history in security and encryption systems.
