WEGENER's DTV720 transport stream multiplexer gives small cable operators powerful multiplexing options in an affordable package. Its flexible architecture and compact design allows operators to seamless repackage off-air 8VSB and local ASI streams into their headends for a lower cost per channel.
Building from a standard configuration, the DTV720 flexible design supports the following options.
- Standard Configuration (2 ASI in / 2 ASI out): Provides 2:1 ASI multiplexing allowing operators to add/drop programs from input streams to build a new transport stream.
- Option 1 (4 ASI in / 2 ASI out): Add a dual ASI input card for 4:1 multiplexing capabilities.
- Option 2 (2 ASI, 1 8VSB in / 2 ASI out): Add one (1) 8VSB demodulator card to build a multiplex of local off-air HD and satellite signals.
- Option 3 (2 ASI, 2 8VSB in / 2 ASI out): Add two (2) 8VSB demodulator cards to build a multiplex with 2 off-air HD signals and satellite signals.
- Gigabit Ethernet Option: Add a Gigabit Ethernet output module for direct input into a IP/Ethernet infrastructure.
- DHEI Option: Add a DHEI output module to the above configurations for direct input into a Motorola IRT.
Building from a standard configuration, the DTV720 flexible design supports the following options.
PSIP data may be selected to be included or excluded from the output. A operator may change the output program numbers, short name and major/minor channel numbers.
A web browser provides a user-friendly interface for monitoring system parameters and selecting output transport stream programs. Up to 10 multiplex configurations may be stored and recalled for quick change of operations.
The DTV720 provides quality monitoring of the streams via SNMP or the web interface. Warning and alarm conditions are provided by contact closures on a rear panel connector.
