NSN ORDERS WEGENER DIGITAL AUDIO

*COMPEL Network Control Powers JACOR Contribution Network*

DULUTH, GA., December 1, 1997 /PRNewswire/ -- Wegener Corporation (Nasdaq: WGNR - news), announced it has received initial orders from new distributor NSN Network Services totaling over 700 thousand dollars. NSN provides satellite space segment, uplink & receive hardware, and integration services for radio networks around the world.

With these orders NSN will provide JACOR a satellite delivered contribution network linking JACOR's major market radio properties. JACOR is a group radio station owner and provider of radio network programming. Each major market will be equipped with its own SCPC uplink, featuring the Wegener DE98 digital audio encoder, DM196 variable rate modulator & a COMPEL network control system. These uplinks will transmit to Wegener DR96Q variable rate QPSK receivers.
