FOX CABLE NETWORKS GROW WITH WEGENER UNITY MPEG2 DIGITAL VIDEO

Duluth, GA. -- December 10, 1997 -- Wegener Corporation (NASDAQ: WGNR), announced it has received an additional order from FOX for its UNITY4000 MPEG2 digital video satellite receivers. Part of Wegener’s UNITY digital product family, the UNITY4000 is utilized by FOX Sports Net, FX Networks and fxM: Movies from FOX.

This order is in addition to an order placed by FOX for $11.8 million in May, 1997. This existing order was for UNITY4000 receivers and Wegener’s COMPEL network control system.
