ORDERS EXCEED $2 MILLION

July 13, 1998 - Duluth, GA: Wegener Corporation (NASDAQ:WGNR), announced it has received orders exceeding $2 million for transmit and receive equipment used in business television and distance learning applications. These orders, received in the previous three weeks, include large volume shipments of UNITY digital video receivers and multiple COMPEL network control systems.
