STUART KRAVITZ JOINS WEGENER COMMUNICATIONS
AS VICE PRESIDENT SALES

Duluth, GA – July 20, 1999 – Wegener Corporation (NASDAQ: WGNR), announced today that Stuart Kravitz has joined Wegener Communications as Vice President Sales. With over 20 years experience in sales management in the television and satellite communications industries, Mr. Kravitz will be responsible for directing Wegener’s global sales efforts, overseeing a staff that includes a direct sales force and international distributors.

Previously with Scientific Atlanta as Director of Sales, Digital Television Systems, North America, Mr. Kravitz was responsible for the direct and indirect sales of ATSC digital video compression products in the North American DTV market. Prior to this assignment, he managed sales in the Southern Cone, Latin America, for S-A’s Satellite Television Networks Business Unit. Mr. Kravitz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
