(May 10, 2001)
DULUTH, Georgia Wegener Corporation (Nasdaq: WGNR), a leading
provider of digital satellite transmission equipment to broadcast television
and cable networks worldwide, announced today that it received an additional

ordered additional UNITY500 Digital Television Receivers, augmenting
the orders placed during the summer of 2000.
TERACOM, owned by the Swedish government, is responsible for the operation
of all terrestrial broadcasting of television and most radio transmissions
in Sweden and uses Wegener products to distribute a variety of content,
including horse racing video and race information, lottery results,
and other business network data to customers. TERACOM originally ordered
1,500 UNITY500 devices, coupled with Wegeners COMPEL Network Management
System. Todays order allows TERACOM to manage anticipated expansion
needs.
"Our longstanding relationship with TERACOM is extremely important
to Wegener," said Keith N. Smith, president of Wegener Communications.
"TERACOM has recognized the power, sophistication and flexibility
of Wegeners UNITY receivers and the COMPEL network management
system, and as TERACOMs network continues to expand, we believe
Wegener technology will continue to provide unparalleled control and
capability for TERACOM and its customers."
The UNITY500 Digital Television Receiver is high performance, economical
satellite receiver targeted to meet the needs of the private satellite
television market place. Supporting both PAL and NTSC video standards,
the UNITY500 operates in international applications providing high quality
video, audio and data. The UNITY500 supports DVB Teletext and Line 21
closed captioning for enhanced video functionality. IP (Internet Protocol)
