WENDELL BAILEY JOINS WEGENER BOARD OF DIRECTORS
(February 19, 2003) – Duluth, Georgia –
WEGENER Corporation (NASDAQ: WGNR), announced that Wendell Bailey has
joined the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Bailey has enjoyed
a distinguished career in television and telecommunications, most recently
as the Chief Technologist for NBC in New York.
Mr. Bailey is well known as a technology leader in cable television,
having served for 16 years as the NCTA (National Cable Television Association)
Vice President, Science and Technology. He has authored over 100 articles
and papers in the fields of television and telecommunications technology.

Mr. Bailey is a member of the Advanced Television System Committee Executive

CED Magazine named Bailey "Man Of The Year" in 1988. Wendell
was named "Fellow" of the SCTE (Society of Cable Television
Engineers) in 1997 - one of only seven out of some 16,000 members.
