HDNet selects WEGENER for Cable TV Distribution

High Definition Television Network rolls out with UNITY receivers

April 28, 2003 -- Duluth, GA. -- WEGENER Corporation (Nasdaq: WGNR) today announced an order from HDNet and HDNet Movies for WEGENER’s UNITY IRD’s and COMPEL Network Control System. HDNet will utilize the system for delivery of its all high-definition sports, entertainment and news networks.

Commenting on the order, HDNet General Manager and co-founder Phillip Garvin stated, “WEGENER provides HDNet with a flexible system - it makes things like regional blackouts both easier for us and for the cable headends we serve. WEGENER’s UNITY 4422 receiver can receive both our channels in a single, reasonably priced package.“

HDNet and HDNet Movies are utilizing the WEGENER UNITY4422 IRD at cable headends. The UNITY4422's digital capabilities will be use for this application.
