WEGENER RECEIVES SATELLITE RECEIVER ORDERS FROM HDNET CABLE AFFILIATES

( May 13 , 2004 ) - DULUTH, Georgia – WEGENER Corporation (Nasdaq: WGNR ), a leading worldwide provider of satellite transmission solutions for broadcast and cable television networks, announces orders for the WEGENER Unity 4600 satellite receivers from cable Multiple Systems Operators for HDNet. HDNet joins Fox Cable and other programmers in using the WEGENER Unity 4600. The orders represent expanding cable coverage for HDNet and HDNet Movies programming.

The digital output on the WEGENER Unity 4600 can be fed directly into existing digital cable plant infrastructure. WEGENER Unity 4600 Digital Media Receiver is replacing WEGENER Unity 4422 Receiver for HDNet satellite reception.
