(December 2, 2004) - DULUTH, Georgia – WEGENER® Corporation (Nasdaq: WGNR), a leading provider of digital media distribution solutions for television, audio and data networks worldwide, announced a fiscal 2004 fourth quarter order from a radio broadcaster for more than 2.9 million dollars of satellite transmission equipment. The agreement includes WEGENER’s iPump® Media Servers, a supporting MediaPlan™ Content Management System, WEGENER’s patented Compel Network Control System and Unity 4600 Satellite Media Receivers. The audio broadcaster will augment its linear audio network with the iPump Solution. WEGENER’s iPump Solution enables “central casting”, which allows audio broadcasters to offer localized content to individual receive locations, all from one central control facility. Ned Mountain, Executive Vice President of WEGENER stated, “Our iPump Solution combines the best of both radio broadcasting worlds – the efficient network operations of large radio broadcasters with the customized listening experience of small radio broadcasters.” Localization through central control enables new revenue models for medium and large audio broadcasters by allowing them to advertise locally sponsored events on their stations. WEGENER’s iPump Solution provides scalability for large networks to reach individual transmit locations. “We are excited about working with this new customer and fielding another iPump network,” stated Jay Batista, Vice President of Corporate Development at WEGENER. “WEGENER’s iPump Solution has been setting the pace of innovation for dynamic delivery of digital content and customers are responding with orders.” ABOUT WEGENER COMMUNICATIONS COMPEL, MEDIAPLAN, ENVOY, UNITY, and iPUMP are trademarks of WEGENER Communications, Inc.
